Sierra Bretz

Sierra Bretz has long served the community as a management consultant, nonprofit leader, and social entrepreneur. She recently joined Denver-based Civica Management as the new executive director of the Greeting Cards Association.
During her time in the nonprofit sector, Sierra has served as an executive for numerous organizations, often leading during times of great duress and change. She has worked in partnership with boards and staff to successfully launch dozens of innovative programs and spearheaded multiple state-wide initiatives. In her role as a owner and principal consultant of VIE Partners International, she has provided leadership and project-based consulting to a wide range of clients, including:
- Industry associations
- Small and large nonprofits
- Manufacturing companies
- International aid agencies
- Arts & education organizations
Her key areas of expertise include strategic planning, fundraising, finance, marketing, and community building.
Prior to working with Civica, Sierra spent two years in France, where she worked within the arts industry and consulted with an environmentally-focused natural foods company, Naturaé France (naturaefrance.com). Sierra is passionate about the arts and remains committed to environmental preservation. However her deepest, lifelong commitment is to serving those struggling with poverty.
Favorite Civica Value: Fun - Why? Because to me, Accountability, Communication, Impact, Inclusivity, Selflessness, and Courage are all givens. These are MUSTS in our work, non-negotiables. But it's easy to forget to have fun, so it's important to have a keen focus on it! And let's face it, teams that have fun together, stay together...
