A graduate of The Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Textiles and Consumer Sciences, Amy's journey began in the world of fashion design and merchandising. Her double major in apparel design and fashion merchandising hinted at a future filled with sketches, fabrics, and runways. But her drive and ambition extended beyond the design studio. A minor in business and a stint as a product developer and assistant buyer for jewelry at Stein Mart during her college years foreshadowed her future shift in focus. Amy's entrepreneurial spirit and thirst for new challenges led her to explore diverse industries and roles. From shaping customer experiences in retail for Target to managing financial operations at Wachovia, she demonstrated her adaptability and leadership skills, consistently delivering exceptional results. These roles honed her leadership skills, her commitment to customer service, and her ability to create a dynamic and engaging team environment.
O'Grady's talents weren't confined to a single industry. One of her paths took her to Southeastern Grocers, the parent company behind supermarket chains like BI-LO, Winn-Dixie, and Harveys. Here, she wore two hats – a Marketing Campaigns & Events Specialist, where she cultivated partnerships with celebrity chefs, managed menu food costing and high-profile events. As the Digital Marketer for Social Media, she oversaw social media strategy for a company boasting a combined $11 billion in annual sales! She showcased her strategic marketing prowess, leveraging social media and data analytics to drive measurable results. However, It was during her tenure as Marketing Director at Charlie's Tropic Heating and Air Conditioning that Amy discovered her passion for the HVAC industry. Here she modernized the company’s brand identity by crafting engaging content, developing data-driven marketing programs, and constantly staying ahead of the ever-changing digital landscape. Amy's hands-on experience in contracting further deepened her understanding of the HVACR industry and its nuances. Amy achieved a significant milestone by becoming a licensed contractor, underscoring her dedication to mastering her craft and providing exceptional service to her clients.
Throughout her career, Amy has dedicated herself to serving in various director roles, where she has demonstrated her unwavering commitment to advancing the missions of the organizations she has been a part of. Her leadership and dedication to service have been instrumental in driving positive change and fostering a culture of excellence. Outside of her professional endeavors, Amy is deeply involved in her community, volunteering her time to support local initiatives and organizations. Her passion for giving back and making a difference is evident in everything she does. Her involvement with organizations like Jax Truckies, a social media-driven organization dedicated to promoting Jacksonville's thriving food truck scene, the Professional Women's Council of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the North Florida Air Conditioning Contractors Association speak volumes about her commitment to empowering others. As an Licensed HVAC contractor Amy also uses her influence in the political arena to help shape legislation that advocates for higher standards in the HVAC industry and also benefits the consumers.
In recognition of her achievements and leadership, Amy has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Jax Truckies: Best Use of Social Media BizTech Award, and The ACHR NEWS Top 40 Under 40 HVACR Professionals 2019. Additionally, Amy was invited to be one of the inaugural members of Bryant Women in HVAC, underscoring her commitment to advancing women's representation in the HVAC industry. As a proud mother of two boys, she finds joy in balancing her career with raising her children in the vibrant beach community of Neptune Beach, FL. Amy's love for outdoor sports, including paddle boarding and running, reflects her adventurous spirit and appreciation for the coastal lifestyle.
